The Webster Memorial Trophy Team is sad to announce that Amy Foy, former administrator of the competition, lost her battle with cancer on 26 December 2018.
Amy was the dedicated organizer of the competition from 2007 until 2016, while her husband Wayne was also involved and enthusiastically undertook many roles. Amy, as administrator, looked after most aspects of the competition, including publicity, dealing with applications, answering questions, organizing locations and all the logistics, the budget, hotels, travel, activities, the banquet, and the myriad of other tasks required to keep the competition running smoothly. Webster could not have progressed without her hard work driving the competition forward, for which the Webster Team is very grateful. The Webster Trophy competition would not be what it is today without her dedication to the cause. Rest in peace, Amy, you will always be remembered and greatly missed.
A Celebration of Amy’s life was held in Washington, D.C. (Amy’s family home) on 14 January 2019. Plans for a service in the Ottawa area are not yet to be finalized.
